Cawley drove to a section of Route 17C in the town of Owego, Tioga County, to patrol the area, but he couldn’t find the driver either.
He did, however, see what he thought to be a row of mailboxes and waded through the snow to find out the addresses.
After speaking with the 58-year-old, Cawley found the man had been plowed in by a truck, and his car was covered with almost 4 feet of snow.
Kresen had been stranded for more than 10 hours, with no heat, due to a broken serpentine belt.
After being removed from his car, Kresen was taken to Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, Broome County, for treatment.
