Portion of Stone Road in Henrietta reopens after house fire

HENRIETTA, N.Y.  — A portion of Stone Road reopened Monday morning as crews worked to put out a house fire.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says Stone Road between High Stone Circle and Tumbleweed Drive reopened after being closed for roughly five hours.
Henrietta Fire District crews told News10NBC the fire happened at an abandoned home on Stone Road. Crews went to the scene around 6:45 a.m. and reported seeing heavy smoke pouring from the home.
Firefighters say the flames likely started in the basement and spread to all three floors. A large hole in the first floor made it difficult to fight, but the fire was put out within an hour.
Deputies say investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire.
