RPD investigating two overnight shooting incidents

Rochester, N.Y. – One person is recovering in the hospital on Thursday morning after being shot.
After 1 a.m. on Thursday, Rochester Police received the report of shots fired near Sawyer Street and Genesee Street.
When they arrived to the scene, they learned that a 20-year-old male was dropped off at Strong Hospital with a gunshot wound.
He is expected to survive.
Police say his wound is related to that call of shots fired earlier.
Around the same time, at 1:30 a.m. police received word that there had been another report of shots fired near Lyell Avenue and Cameron Street.
When police arrived to that scene, they found several buildings had been fired at but no one was struck.
The area was closed down for the investigation but has since reopened.
No one is in custody for either instance.
