Superintendents in Livingston, Monroe counties want ‘home rule’

Livingston County, New York — Superintendents in Monroe and Livingston counties have written Gov. Kathy Hochul, asking for them to have control over public health regulations and mandates.
Superintendents in Genesee and Orleans counties have penned similar letters to Hochul.
The state’s school masking policy is currently the subject of a court battle. It expires on Feb. 21.
On Tuesday, Hochul is expected to speak with superintendents across the state.
