City encourages people to be part of the growing gardening community

Rochester, New York – Rochester Mayor Malik Evans wants to encourage new gardeners to become a part of the city’s growing gardening community by highlighting the planning aspect of gardening.
There is a new website set up by the city that contains information on how people can get a garden permit for a vacant property that the city owns. It also has other useful information.
Spring, according to the mayor, is a period of change, and he wants to make the Rochester area more attractive while also creating bonds between seniors and young people.
Anyone who lives near a city-owned vacant lot is encouraged to start a new community garden.
