The Heat Builds For the First Week of August

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – High clouds rolled into the area today and that had a tendency to mute some of the sunshine, but the comfortable mid-summer continued for this last day of July.  Looking ahead, there will be a more progress southwest wind flow over the next 36 hours and that will increase the humidity and eventually bring a few sporadic thundershowers to Western New York.

Tonight look for patchy clouds to give way to clearing skies overnight.  The temperature will fall into the low to middle 60s.  Monday will bring mostly sunny skies.  However, there will be a noticeable increase in the humidity with the high temperature in the upper 80s.  It will turn breezy by the late afternoon.  Once we get to Monday night there is an increasing chance of a few passing showers and maybe a thundershower.  The low will be near 60 degrees. Tuesday any showers and thundershowers should come to an end by midday with partial sunshine developing by the afternoon.  In addition, there will be a lowering of the heat and humidity with the high temperature near 80 degrees.
