Two Italian businessmen found dead in Queens of suspected overdoses

Two Italian businessmen on a business trip to New York City were found dead of suspects overdoses in their Queens basement Airbnb, police said Thursday.

Cops were called to the building on 29th St. near 40th Road in Long Island City about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday and found the victims, identified by Italian media as Luca Nogaris, 38, and Alessio Picelli, 48, dead inside.

The two men were partners in the home furnishing business, according to Italian press.

Nogaris, an artisan, and Picelli, a furnishing designer, are from Rovigo, which is about 50 miles outside of Venice. The two were in the city on a business trip, Italian media reported.

The city Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine how they died. Drug paraphernalia was found near their bodies, police sources said.
