Teenage gangs terrorized residents in a Bronx apartment building for several months

According to a report from the neighborhood, the residents of an apartment building in the Morrisania area of the Bronx have said that they have been terrorized by gangs of teenagers over the last several months.
Nydia Carrero, who is 63 years old and lives in an apartment building on East 169th Street, was recently attacked by a gang.
“They were kicking me in my side, kicking me on this side, punching me in the back, trying to get my face,” she said.
Statistics from the NYPD show that crime in the Bronx has gone up overall in 2022. Robberies are up 43.4%, felony assaults are up 23%, and burglaries are up 38.3% compared to the same time in 2021.
Victor Gonzalez, age 60, one of the other residents of the apartment building in the Bronx, said that the issue is only becoming worse.
“It’s a shame. They’re telling us they’re going to come back and burn the building down. It’s ridiculous,” Gonzalez said.
