Police looking for suspect who pushed an elderly woman down NYC subway stairs in an unprovoked attack

On Tuesday, police said that a 68-year-old woman had been the victim of an unprovoked assault by a stranger at a Queens subway station.

The attack took place on August 22 at around 9:30 a.m., while the victim was leaving the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens stop. According to the police, the assailant shoved the victim from behind, causing her to fall down the stairs.

As the victim fell down a step of stairs, the attacker raced out of the station without uttering a single word. He has not been arrested yet.

First responders rendered aid to the injured woman at the scene.

The CCTV footage of the suspect, who is believed to be homeless, was published by the police on Tuesday, and they are urging anybody who may have information about him to come forward.
