On Thursday, police said that a 21-year-old man had been shot and killed in a Bronx apartment complex.
At around 4:05 p.m., officers who were responding to a 911 call found a man who was fatally injured at the house located on Valentine Avenue near E. Burnside Avenue in Mount Hope, according to the police.
He was unresponsive and had a wound to his torso that had been caused by a bullet.
He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he later died.
The identity of the victim was not immediately made public.
The suspect in the shooting is still being sought by the police.
The Bronx is now the most dangerous borough in the city when it comes to the number of killings. According to the most recent data from the NYPD, there have been 90 homicides in the borough so far. This is 7.2% less than the same time last year.
Brooklyn, which has 86 murders, is following closely behind New York City.
According to the statistics, there have been 50 people slain in Queens, while there have been 34 in Manhattan and four on Staten Island.
In comparison to the same week in 2021, the number of citywide murders has decreased by 10.5%.
