Hit-and-run driver fatally struck a 5-year-old boy in Queens

On Thursday, a hit-and-run accident in Queens resulted in the death of a little boy who was only 5 years old.

According to the police report, he was walking across 100th Street and McIntosh Street in East Elmhurst at around 5:30 p.m. as his father held his hand. AnotherĀ little kid of ten years old was also present.

The horrifying footage shows a white Dodge Ram pickup truck making a left turn onto McIntosh Street when it strikes the 5-year-old boy and continues driving.

The young kid had severe injuries to both the head and the body.

A witness said that as the medical personnel came, they began performing CPR right away.

“The baby was on the floor with blood all over his face,” said Ayaan Ahmed. “I got up close and he was unconscious. The people around him, his parents, were crying.”

He was transported to Elmhurst Hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

“I feel bad,” said Ahmed. “He was just a little kid.”

According to the reports, the driver is a local resident. The authorities are attempting to get him to turn himself in.
