Authorities said that following an altercation, a man in Texas chased his girlfriend with a knife before lighting their bedroom on fire.
Miguel Quintana, 38, was arrested and put into the Harris County Jail on Thursday, where he remained as of Sunday on accusations of arson, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, and aggravated assault against a peace officer.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., constable deputies from Harris County Precinct 3 were sent to a residence in the 12900 block of City Green Trail. Thursday, firefighters responded to a structure fire.
Investigators discovered that after an argument, Quintana chased his fiancée with a knife and set fire to their bedroom.
As stated by authorities, a small child was reportedly brought to the hospital for smoke inhalation. It is suspected that she rushed inside the home after the brawl, but fled again when the fire broke out.
