State Police arrest a Rochester man for driving while intoxicated following collision with utility pole

Rochester, New York – On February 13, 2024, an incident involving a vehicle and a utility pole on Norton Street and Waring Road in Rochester led to the arrest of a local man for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

DWI Arrest Following Traffic Incident in Rochester

State Police Rochester were dispatched to the scene where a vehicle had collided with a utility pole. Upon arrival, they encountered the driver, 44-year-old Raheem M. Gayden from Rochester, NY. After failing the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests administered by the troopers, Gayden was taken into custody.

Following his arrest for Driving While Intoxicated, a charge classified as an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Gayden was processed at SP Rochester. He was subsequently issued an appearance ticket, mandating his presence at the City of Rochester Criminal Court on February 29, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.

After the processing formalities, Gayden was released to a sober third party. This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address and mitigate the dangers of impaired driving within the community.
