Hit-and-run accident leaves a female pedestrian seriously injured

On Tuesday, police said that a Mercedes driver who jumped the curb and struck a woman standing on a Manhattan sidewalk before fleeing the scene left the woman in serious condition.

Within a span of five minutes and five blocks, she was one of two victims seriously injured by hit-and-run Mercedes drivers.

The victim was hit while standing in front of a restaurant on W. 202nd St. near Ninth Ave. in Inwood, according to police. She was transported to Harlem Hospital, where her condition was serious but stable.

Police said that after hitting the person, the driver took off in an easterly direction and has not been found.

On Tuesday, police revealed security video of the accused driver outside his black car before the incident, as well as footage of him behind the wheel.

Police say that five minutes and five blocks later, a second Mercedes hit a man on a scooter, possibly leaving him paralyzed.

The motorist rear-ended the 32-year-old victim at 4:20 a.m. between W. 207th St. and Ninth Ave., according to police. This Mercedes-Benz driver had just arrived from the Bronx through the University Heights Bridge.

Police said that the cruel driver and at least one passenger abandoned their aquamarine luxury automobile and fled without being apprehended. The collision shattered the Mercedes’s windshield.

According to authorities, the victim was sent to Harlem Hospital with significant back injuries and may be paralyzed.

A 24-year-old man riding on the back of the victim’s scooter was sent to the same hospital with minor injuries.
