Homeless man shot after attacking three people at a Target store in Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Police Department said that on Tuesday night, a homeless man walked into a Target store in the city and stabbed several customers inside.

The stabbing incident took place at around 6:20 p.m. local time at the store that is part of a shopping complex that is located at 7th Street and Figueroa Street.

After taking a knife from a shelf in the business, the suspect attacked three people, stabbing two of them and striking the third. According to the authorities, a security officer opened fire on the suspect after the incident.

A number of police cars and ambulances were sent to the scene. Authorities cordoned off the area in order to conduct an investigation.

Two people were transported to a local hospital for treatment. One of them is believed to be the suspect, who was said to be in critical condition.
