Rochester traffic stop leads to felony weapons charges

Rochester, New York – In a significant operation on December 3, 2023, the SP Rochester Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Initiative successfully apprehended three individuals during a traffic stop in Rochester, NY. Terence Howard, Sherron Davis, and Najm Dowdell, all residents of Rochester, now face serious weapon-related felony charges.

The event unfolded when troopers halted a 2010 Dodge Avenger for a traffic violation. During this stop, they discovered two loaded semi-automatic handguns and an additional magazine.
