Brockport Symphony Orchestra will present Global Connections concert on November 6

The Brockport Symphony Orchestra will present “Global Connections” at the First Presbyterian Church of Brockport, 35 State Street, Brockport. This event will feature violin soloist Eloise Fadial and composer-in-residence Emmanuel Sikora, under the direction of Jonathan Allentoff.

Fadial, the orchestra’s concertmaster, trained at the University of Wyoming under Grammy-nominated violinist Dr. John Fadial and renowned violinist Dr. Beth Vanderborgh. The winner of the renowned McElhone Scholarship, she played with the University of Wyoming Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. She is now doing her graduate studies at Rochester University.

Sikora is a composer and pianist of worldwide renown, including recent performances by the Ukrainian Festival Orchestra, Lviv Philharmonic, and Syracuse University Symphony Orchestra. The Washington Post has said that his music is a “charming mix of the romantic and the modern, with no sense of self-importance or pretense.”

The event is free to attend; however, contributions are warmly appreciated.

The Genesee Valley Council of the Arts administers the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the cooperation of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
