Brooklyn man dies two weeks after being shot in the head by his mother

On Tuesday, the police said that a man who was 28 years old had passed away after his mother shot him in the head during a dispute at their house in Brooklyn.

Christopher Jenkins was discovered seated outside of his apartment building on Pacific Street near Utica Avenue in Crown Heights about 9:50 p.m. on October 12 with two gunshot wounds to the head, according to the police officers who responded to a complaint of shots fired and located Christopher Jenkins.

“I got shot,” Jenkins told police as they rendered care. “My mother shot me.”

Jenkins was quickly transported by the medical staff to the Kings County Hospital, where he had urgent surgery. There, he clung to life for over two weeks before eventually passing away on October 24.

Vanessa Jenkins, the suspect’s mother, was located inside the residence, where she was arrested by the police.

The mother, who is 44 years old, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon, and illegal use of a handgun by the police.

According to the documents, she is now being held on Rikers Island on a bond of one million dollars.
