Election day is upon us and millions of Americans are heading to the polls

As one of the most contentious and controversial election cycles in recent history comes to an end, millions of voters across the United States are expected to cast their ballots on Tuesday.

There are a total of 435 seats up for grabs in the House of Representatives, in addition to 35 seats in the Senate. There are a total of three dozen open governorships, in addition to hundreds of races that will decide which party has the majority in state legislatures.

At one o’clock in the afternoon, Eastern Time (ET), polling places will open in every one of the 50 states. The polls in Indiana and Kentucky close at six o’clock in the evening ET, while the polls in Alaska close at one in the morning ET.

High consumer costs and frustration about economic headwinds are two of voters’ top concerns, and Republicans were banking on these factors to motivate voters to reject President Biden and Democrats’ program.

The Democrats, on the other hand, are counting on a high turnout of their most important voters, especially young people, to stop the Republicans’ progress and keep them from taking control of Congress.
