Louisiana polling place relocated after a 15-year-old made a bomb threat

Election officials in Louisiana were forced to relocate a polling site on Tuesday as a result of a bomb threat that was made at a school in a New Orleans suburb. According to the police, the threat was made by a “15-year-old juvenile from out of state.”

The Kenner Police Department said they found evidence linking the recent bomb threat to one made against Kenner Discovery School the previous week. “An arrest warrant has been obtained for the juvenile for the crimes of… false communication with the intent to cause an emergency response and… communicating false information of planned arson,” Kenner police said in a statement.

Police added “Investigators are working with the local law enforcement agency in which the juvenile resides in affecting an arrest.”

Authorities also noted they do not believe the threat is election-related. According to the police, there were no students present at the school yesterday since it was closed for Election Day.
