Macedon Police Chief Fabian Rivera faces DWI charges after crashing a patrol car

Macedon’s Police Chief, Fabian Rivera, has been charged with DWI following a Monday morning patrol car accident, as per reports from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 8:15 a.m. on Waterford Road, Rivera was involved in a crash. Although no one was hurt, the collision resulted in property damage, and the patrol car required towing.

Suspecting Rivera of being under the influence, Macedon police enlisted the assistance of Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies for the investigation.

Rivera faces several charges from the Sheriff’s investigators, including driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, and operating a vehicle with a BAC of .08% or more. Macedon police have also charged him with driving while intoxicated.

Following an incident in December, Rivera had previously taken voluntary unpaid leave. Post the recent crash, he received a ticket and is set to appear in court.
