Major fire at Borough Apartments left several displaced, firefighters injured

On the evening of September 12, 2023, at 9:00 PM, a fire broke out at the Borough apartment complex located at the 5900 Block of Greenspoint Drive. The Fort Worth Fire Department promptly responded to numerous emergency calls from concerned residents.

Upon arriving, firefighters found several apartments in the complex engulfed in flames. Engine 20, in particular, displayed bravery by rescuing two residents from a burning apartment. While these residents were moved to safety, other team members provided essential medical care on the spot.

Due to the fire, three individuals needed medical attention. Two were taken to nearby healthcare facilities for a thorough examination and treatment. The third received immediate medical care at the scene. Additionally, firefighters managed to rescue a dog from the fire, as per Dallas Metro News.

After about an hour of efforts, the fire department successfully controlled the fire. The incident affected 12 apartments in total, displacing eight tenants. The American Red Cross Greater North Texas was present at the scene to provide support and relief measures for the affected families.

It is important to mention that during the firefighting efforts, two firefighters sustained minor burn injuries. However, the Fort Worth Fire Department has confirmed that they are expected to make a full recovery.
