Man stabbed by a customer while arguing with restaurant staff in Manhattan

Police reports made public on Saturday say that a man was eating at a Midtown steakhouse when another customer stabbed him in the back while the victim was arguing with a member of the staff.

According to sources inside the police department, the victim, who was 24 years old and was eating at Ruth’s Chris Steak House on West 51st Street just after 10 p.m. on Friday, started fighting with an employee over his meal and the service shortly after that.

The police say that while he was arguing with the worker, two women at the table next to him got angry and joined in the fight.

According to the police, as the altercation became more intense, one of the women took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the back.

As a 911 call was being placed, the ladies bolted out of the restaurant.

The victim received treatment for his minor injuries at Weill Cornell Medical Center after being taken there by emergency medical services.

“When they brought him out he was holding his upper chest. He was stabbed and bleeding, but still talking when they put him into the ambulance,” said a security guard at the hotel Michelangelo, which is next to the steakhouse. “It was stupid. It was a fight between customers that just got out of control.”

No arrests were made.

The police worked all of Friday night looking for security footage that may be used to positively identify the two ladies.
