Maryland man posts bond after child porn possession charges

A 19-year-old Maryland male was freed from police custody last week after paying the minimum $2,500 bail. He was charged with five counts of possessing child pornography.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force found child pornographic evidence in the possession of Paul David, who lives in Fort Washington, Maryland. On Thursday morning, state police took him into custody.

In July, the Maryland State Computer Crimes Unit began an investigation into David’s possession of online child pornographic material. After a three-month investigation, state police, with support from Homeland Security Investigations and Prince George’s County Police Department, executed a search warrant at David’s house.

The police say that a quick look at David’s electronic devices showed that he had many files with child pornography on them. He was taken into custody right away.

David was charged with five misdemeanor charges of child pornographic material possession. Shortly after being charged, he paid a $2,500 unsecured bond and was released from custody.

His next scheduled court hearing is November 28 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
