Minor injuries in drunk driving crash involving Rochester woman and child
Rochester, New York – A Rochester woman has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after crashing her car while a child was onboard.
The accident occurred around 2:45 AM in the area of Hudson Avenue and Norton Street. Upon arriving at the scene, police found that the vehicle had been involved in a single-car crash. It was determined that the car was traveling eastbound on Norton Street when it veered off the road and collided with a tree. This impact caused the vehicle to roll over and come to a stop on its side.
The driver, identified as a 42-year-old woman from Rochester, now faces charges for aggravated driving while intoxicated, along with several traffic offenses. This incident highlights the severe risks and consequences of driving under the influence, especially with a child in the vehicle.
Fortunately, both the driver and the child passenger were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, with only minor injuries reported. The area where the crash occurred has since been cleared and reopened to traffic. This event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the dangers of drunk driving.
