Monroe County Executive announced groundbreaking of several renovation projects at Ontario Beach Park

Today, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello announced the start of several renovations at the Roger Robach Community Center at Ontario Beach Park. The renovations will include making the toilets work for people with disabilities, adding new windows and doors, and installing a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system that will cool the main common area.

New York State gave a big chunk of the money for the projects of Senator Jeremy Cooney and Assemblywoman Sarah Clark.

“Each year, thousands of Monroe County residents and visitors enjoy weddings, picnics and parties hosted at The Roger Robach Community Center,” said County Executive Bello. “The long-awaited upgrades to the center will revitalize the entire area for future generations and make Ontario Beach Park a premier destination for large events and family fun. I thank Senator Cooney, Assemblymember Clark and Governor Hochul for their continued investment in Monroe County’s parks system.”

The 1931-built Roger Robach Community Center in Ontario Beach Park will be renovated as part of the $7.2 Million budgeted for Monroe County’s parks system this year. In August, a wheelchair access ramp was completed on the beach, and planned enhancements include a synthetic ice skating rink, spray park, and ADA-accessible playground.

“The Roger Robach Center has a historic presence on Lake Ontario’s waterfront and remains a center of community for Rochester families,” said Senator Jeremy Cooney. “I am proud to have delivered on my promise to the people of Charlotte by securing over half a million dollars in state funding to finally modernize and ensure the Robach Center will be enjoyed for generations to come. I’m grateful to Monroe County Executive Adam Bello for his partnership and support in this long-awaited project.”
