Multiple overnight shootings in Rochester, ongoing investigations
Authorities are currently probing a trio of shootings that transpired across the city last evening.
While none of the occurrences resulted in fatalities, police confirm that two individuals were admitted to the hospital for non-critical injuries.
Close to 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, law enforcement responded to a disturbance on Clifford Avenue, where shots were reportedly fired. Despite finding proof of gunfire at the location, there were neither casualties nor property damage.
Concurrently, officers were dispatched to another shooting incident near Bay Street and Portland Avenue. At this location, they discovered a 32-year-old Rochester resident suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He received medical attention at Strong Memorial Hospital, as stated by RPD.
Merely hours later, just before 2 a.m., another call led officers to Cameron Street and Myrtle Hill Park for a similar incident. A 32-year-old man was found with a single gunshot wound. Investigations indicate that the event originally took place at MLK Jr. Memorial Park. This individual was also rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital, per police reports.
As all three cases remain open, law enforcement urges anyone with relevant information to contact 911 or Crime Stoppers at 423-9300.
