Police arrested a man in connection with an unprovoked NYC subway attack
Police said that the man who was the subject of a search for allegedly attacking a subway cleaner with a pipe on a subway platform in Manhattan has been arrested.
According to the police, Jonathan Frias, 28, was taken into custody and charged with assault in connection with the unprovoked attack that took place on November 4.
At around 6:45 in the morning, Frias allegedly struck the 46-year-old victim in the face with the pipe while she was cleaning the E train platform at the Chambers St. stop.
According to the police report, Frias did not communicate in any way with the woman during the incident. He was able to flee from the MTA workers who were chasing him following the incident.
The victim’s face was swollen and bruised when she arrived at Bellevue Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.
