Rochester local community and church leaders work hard to help those in need for Thanksgiving

Local community and church leaders are gearing up for Thanksgiving, launching their yearly Thanksgiving food drive.

In addition to distributing food baskets this year, there are plans for a special dinner at East High School, although the exact date is yet to be determined. Clay Harris, the founder of Uniting and Healing Through Hope of Monroe County, highlights the dinner’s unique purpose in aiding community members.

“The dinner is specifically designed, which is important, to help families or individuals who have lost a loved one to the senseless violence,” Clay Harris said.

Moreover, attendees of the dinner event can expect a range of valuable resources, including mental health support and information about local job opportunities.
