Several parts of northeast Texas significantly damaged after being hit by a storm
On Friday evening, a severe storm swept over the northeastern section of the state of Texas, and there were reports of significant tornado damage in numerous areas of the region.
The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings beginning in the late afternoon hours for dozens of cities and towns, particularly along the Interstate 35 corridor.
Images and videos that were shared on social media showed fields filled with debris and houses that had been completely destroyed. East Texas was hit with erratic weather as a result of the storm.
The extent of the damage is yet to be assessed. There was no immediate information on any injuries or deaths that may have been caused by the storm.
