Shooter on a moped killed one man and injured another in a Bronx incident

Police said on Tuesday that a shooter on a moped riding past a street corner in the Bronx was responsible for the shooting death of a 21-year-old man and the wounding of another.

The shooter on the moped approached Jayden Goodridge while he was outside of St. Mary’s Park in Mott Haven and opened fire. Authorities said Goodridge was struck in the lower torso, while another 21-year-old man was only grazed in the shooting.

Goodridge was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds the next day, while the 21-year-old man refused treatment.

The shooter fled the scene on the moped following the shooting. The police are still looking into the incident in order to determine who was the assailant’s intended target.

Goodridge was a resident of the Bronx.

The shooter has yet to be identified.
