Stolen gun discovery leads to arrest at Walmart on Hudson Avenue
Rochester, New York – A man found himself in police custody after allegedly being discovered with a stolen firearm at the Walmart located on Hudson Avenue in Rochester. The Rochester Police Department responded swiftly to the situation.
On a Saturday afternoon, shortly after 5 p.m., a concerned citizen reported an individual with a handgun inside the store premises. In response, a police officer on duty at the store took immediate action, apprehending the suspect without any further incident. During a subsequent search, law enforcement officers purportedly discovered a loaded handgun concealed in the suspect’s pocket.
Following a thorough examination of the firearm, it was ascertained that the weapon had been reported stolen from a location in Webster back in 2013. This revelation added a significant layer of seriousness to the case.
The individual in question, identified as 31-year-old Jaquan Jenkins, was promptly transported to the Monroe County Jail. He now faces charges that include second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
