Suspect arrested in connection with 2021 murder of a NYC man
The arrest of a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a man in Brooklyn last year was announced by the police on Tuesday.
In connection with the killing of Eion Thom on April 1, 2021, Shabazz Johnson, age 28, was arrested and charged with murder in addition to unlawful possession of a firearm.
During an altercation on Albemarle Road near Flatbush Avenue in Flatbush, New York, last year, police said that Thom, who was 41 years old, was fatally shot in the back.
He had a home that was located approximately a half mile from where he was murdered.
According to the police, he was taken to Kings County Hospital but was unable to be saved there.
Late on Tuesday night, Johnson was expected to make his first court appearance in the Brooklyn Criminal Court.
