Texas Baptist Men: Providing Help, Hope, and Healing in Times of Disaster
Over the weekend, a team of dedicated disaster relief volunteers from Texas Baptist Men embarked on a journey from Dallas to Little Rock to provide essential aid and comfort to those affected by a devastating tornado. The Director of Disaster Relief for the group, David Wells, revealed that they had been closely monitoring the weather and had volunteers on standby, equipped and ready to deploy at a moment’s notice. The initial response team included a command center and a substantial generator.
Texas Baptist Men crews were primarily focused on assessing the damage caused by the tornadoes over the weekend, before additional volunteers arrive in the coming days with power tools and a mobile kitchen. The extent of the damages in Little Rock is severe, with the mayor reporting over 2,000 homes and businesses damaged or destroyed.
