The Red Jug Pub is holding a head-shaving event to benefit research into childhood cancer
On Sunday, October 9, the Red Jug Pub in Brockport will be hosting its second annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation trademark head-shaving event to raise donations for vital research into childhood cancer. This event is in support of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Over seven people have already registered to have their heads shaved in order to support the purpose of the foundation, which is to finance the greatest amount of research possible in order to discover cures and better treatments for children who are afflicted with cancer.
In the United States, one kid out of every five who is diagnosed with cancer will not survive their illness. Those who do make it through the ordeal often have to deal with the aftereffects of therapy that was too severe for their still-developing bodies. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the non-government organization that gives the most grants to support research into how to treat pediatric cancer. It is also at the forefront of the fight to end the disease in children.
On Sunday, October 9, the event will take place from one to five o’clock at The Red Jug Pub, which is located at 38 Merchant Street in Brockport.
