Three teens arrested after stolen vehicle report leads to pursuit and neighborhood search in Greece

Greece, New York – In a chaotic series of events that unfolded on Wednesday, three teenagers were taken into custody by the Greece Police Department after officers responded to a stolen vehicle alert, resulting in a pursuit, a crash, and a multi-agency search operation.
Brief Chase Ends in Crash and Foot Pursuit
The incident began when a license plate reader on Ridgeway Avenue notified Greece Police about a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers quickly tracked down the car near Mt. Read Boulevard and West Ridge Road. As they attempted to intervene, the vehicle turned into the Koda-Vista neighborhood and fled from officers.
Moments later, the stolen vehicle collided with a parked car near the intersection of Hoover Drive and Vista Drive. All three occupants — two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old — fled on foot from the scene.
Officers immediately began a foot pursuit and were able to catch two of the teens not far from the crash site. The third suspect, a 15-year-old, continued running and disappeared from view, prompting officers to set up a perimeter.
K9 and Drone Assist in Search and Arrest
To track the remaining teen, authorities called in a New York State Police K9 unit and deployed a Greece Police drone. After an alert civilian reported suspicious activity, officers discovered the third suspect hiding in a residential yard. He was then taken into custody without incident.
All three teens now face multiple charges, including criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree, and obstruction of governmental administration. The 15-year-old believed to have been driving was also charged with unlawful fleeing.
No Injuries Reported Despite Weather and Collision
Following the arrests, two of the teens were processed and released to their guardians. The third was taken to a hospital as a precaution for possible cold-weather exposure before being released to a family member. All were issued expedited appearance tickets.
Although both the stolen vehicle and the parked car it struck sustained damage, authorities confirmed that no officers or civilians were injured during the incident.
