Two non-fatal shootings under investigation in Rochester
Rochester, New York – The Rochester Police Department is actively investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred overnight on Sunday, both resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to the victims.
The first incident unfolded just before midnight on Saturday. Officers were called to Highland Hospital following a report of a walk-in gunshot victim. Upon arrival, they discovered a 19-year-old man from Rochester who had sustained at least one gunshot wound to his lower body. Fortunately, medical staff at the hospital assessed his injury as non-life-threatening.
The shooting is believed to have taken place on Oakman Street. The victim was then transported to Highland Hospital by a private vehicle. Rochester Police are currently following several leads to unravel the events leading up to this shooting.
Moments later, in the early hours of Sunday, another shooting was reported. This time, Rochester Police responded to Rochester General Hospital for another walk-in gunshot victim. At the hospital, they found a 26-year-old Rochester man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body, believed to have occurred on Arnett Blvd.
Like the first victim, this man’s injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and he was also transported to the hospital in a private vehicle. Officers are now investigating the circumstances surrounding this second shooting incident.
The Rochester Police Department is seeking the public’s help in gathering information about both incidents. Anyone with knowledge regarding either shooting is urged to contact the police by calling 911.
