16-year-old boy shot in Upper Falls neighborhood

Rochester, New York – In a recent overnight incident, a teenage boy, aged 16, was admitted to the hospital after a shooting occurred in the northern part of the city.

Following an alert from ShotSpotter and a call to 911 about a young male shot at the intersection of Clifford and Joseph avenues around 1:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the scene.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered signs of a shooting but could not find the victim. A short time later, information came in about a gunshot victim, the 16-year-old boy, who was taken to Rochester General Hospital by a private car.

The police have reported that the boy’s injuries are not life-threatening. Currently, no suspects have been detained. Police are urging anyone with relevant information to contact 911.
