A man is dead after a shooting at the Popeyes restaurant on East Ridge Road

A fatal shooting occurred at the Popeyes on East Ridge Road, resulting in one man’s death.

Irondequoit Police report that an altercation among several males inside the restaurant escalated around 7:00 p.m. Friday, during which a man in his 20s suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was rushed to Rochester General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect, who escaped the scene. Police confirmed that no staff members of the restaurant were implicated in the event.

The police urge anyone with relevant information to contact 911 immediately.
