Firefighters discover body in vacant home fire

Rochester, New York – Firefighters made a grim discovery in a vacant home on the city’s northwest side that was engulfed in flames early Thursday morning. Responding to an emergency call, crews arrived at the house on Fulton Avenue just before 7 a.m. Their efforts to extinguish the fire led to the uncovering of a tragic scene.

Inside the recently boarded-up home, firefighters found the body of a man. It was determined that he had broken into the vacant property and was squatting there. Unfortunately, during the fire, the man was unable to escape and succumbed to the blaze.
