Man arrested after domestic incident, standoff on North Goodman Street
Rochester, New York – A standoff early Monday morning on the northeast side of the city resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old man. Police were called to a residence on North Goodman Street at around 3:30 a.m. due to a “report of a domestic altercation in which a male allegedly threatened a female with a handgun.”
Nearby, the SWAT team gathered as the situation unfolded.
Following “a few hours,” officers managed to coax the man out of the building and took him into custody.
Investigators at the scene found a multi-caliber AR-15-style rifle in the house. They also discovered there was an existing order of protection between the individuals involved.
The accused, whose identity is yet undisclosed, faces charges including criminal contempt, menacing, and unlawful weapon possession. He is currently held at Monroe County Jail.
Several streets including North Goodman, Rocket, and High were temporarily shut down but were reopened later in the morning.
